Tech resumes have different expectations. Projects, skills, and impact matter as much as job titles.
Skills Section Is Critical
List languages, frameworks, tools, and cloud platforms. Match the job description. Recruiters and ATS both scan for technical keywords.
Projects Section for New Grads or Career Changers
GitHub links, side projects, and open source contributions show initiative. Describe what you built, your role, and the tech stack.
Quantify Impact
Even in tech: "Reduced API latency by 40%" or "Scaled system to handle 1M daily users." Numbers stand out.
Avoid Buzzword Overload
"Synergy," "leverage," and "disrupt" don't add value. Use concrete technologies and outcomes instead.
Link to Portfolio or GitHub
If you have a portfolio or active GitHub, include the link. Make sure it's presentable before you share it.
ATS Still Matters
Many tech companies use ATS. Keep formatting simple—no columns or graphics that might break parsing.
